Our History
Fords Vacu-Maid was originally founded by Ford Thueson in 1958 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He relocated the business to Bountiful, Utah and the business thrived. Ford and his son, Dennis, installed Vacu-Maid Central Vacuum Systems in many of the most impressive architectural masterpieces in Utah including, the LDS Tabernacle and temples, various hospitals and the old ZCMI Mall. Ford retired from the day-to-day operations in 1980 and passed on the business to his son to carry out the tradition of providing dependable, expert central vacuum service and quality products in Bountiful, Utah. Dennis has also done thousands of installations in residences and commercial buildings. Dennis knowledge in commercial applications for central vacuums is well known in the industry. He is regularly sought out by colleagues and manufacturers alike and has been all over the world to share his expertise and help develop products that are shaping our industry today.
Today, Dennis has passed on the torch to his son, Travis, who has been working with Fords Vacu-Maid since 1989. He, like his father, has done thousands of installations residentially and commercially. Travis most recent installation is for ATK Thiokol in a 600,000 square foot building.
